Working at Height Rescue Training

IATS Ltd have years of experience working and training in the rope access industry. We have a purpose-built training facility in the centre of Inverness, a vibrant, and lively location in the heart of the Highlands. As well as IRATA rope access training for all levels, we also offer various work at height competency training courses and advanced rescue training to cater for all needs.

Rescue

An essential part of the planning process must include arrangements for emergencies and rescue should a worker take a fall. The employer and/or owner of the building has the responsibility to ensure rescue provision is available. This is not the responsibility of the emergency services.

Aims of training

To ensure candidates are equipped with the knowledge necessary to carry out work at height rescue in a safe manner.

IATS Ltd Working at Height Rescue Training Course is a specialist course which covers all aspects relating to working at height and rescue and provides delegates with an understanding of legislation, in particular what the regulations state, why robust rescue procedures are a must, and foresight on planning for a successfully rescue.  This course is ideal for anyone who is responsible for employees, contractors and others with safety obligations, including, managers, operatives and others such as building owners who have a duty of care to those working on their premises.

Course content covers unit 3:

  • The Working at Height Regulations (What the law says).
  • The hierarchy of fall protection when carrying out Work at Height (WAH) Legislation.
  • Work Restraint, Work positioning and Fall Arrest.
  • How to raise and lower a casualty using proven rescue kits (Gotcha, Rescue Genie and Safescape systems)
  • Harness and lanyard inspection and wearing (This course also covers PPE Inspection)
  • Suspension Intolerance and dealing with a casualty with suspected trauma
  • Rescue from height and from ground level
  • Recertification, training and first aid procedures.

Additional Details

IATS Ltd Working at Height Rescue Training has a practical Hands-on element, candidates are required to provide their own safety boots IATS Ltd will provide the rest.

Course Duration and Price

IATS Ltd Working at Height Rescue Training is a one day course.

Training courses can either be held at our premises or at your own premises.  POA – prices are based on location and delegate numbers. Min 4 delegates per course. (Please note that a secure and suitably high structure is required for the practical aspects of this course).
